Christmas magic touches the lives of special children every year as the annual ‘Flight to the North Pole’ takes off again. Hosted by the Silverliners, critically ill or underprivileged children get to have the experience of a lifetime as they board a Delta airplane headed to Santa’s North Pole.

Children are brought onto the plane, experience the ride to the North Pole and meet jolly ol’ Saint Nicholas when they land.

Endless tinsel, Christmas bows and sparkling decorations light up The Detroit Metropolitan Airport each year for this special event and Christmas elves, nutcrackers and more holiday figures roam the airport handing out candy, balloons and more! In recent years, Santa has not been the only special guest at the event. Now, children’s favorite television and movie look-a-likes participate and bring joy into the lives of children who have been unable to meet them before.

For three years, Fairytale Entertainment has had the honor and privilege to provide professional character entertainers at no cost for these children to get to meet and take photos with. Various superheroes and princesses make their way through the airport passing out hugs and love to all the children they encounter.

“It’s always a privilege to participate in this magical Christmas event. Our entire team receives so much in return as we witness the joy and laughter on the faces of these amazing children. Knowing we can bring them a little bit of joy in the midst of their adversity lifts all our spirits,” Todd Demoff, CEO and owner of Fairytale Entertainment, said.

For low income families, this holiday event is imperative in keeping their children’s spirits up. They may not be able to purchase everything their children are wanting, but they can bring them to the Flight to the North Pole and give them an magical, unforgettable experience.
